Soon after the war with the three Hon Houses of Ecla, Rawon and Dowhon was concluded another threat would make a move on the Hanta. The Tokugawa had paid attention, trying to get information on the ongoing conflict. When they realised that the Hanta were in a bad position they started to prepare. Forces would be moved to the border of the Hanta under the leadership of Tadakatsu Honda.

Once the war between the Hanta and Hon was officially concluded the Tokugawa troops started to make their move into the Hanta lands. Their incursion would be noticed by the Uchiha, who were alarmed by the weary Hanta clan. Sending a messenger to inform the Tokugawa to either halt their advances or face their steel, the Tokugawa clan attempted to prolong the diplomatic forth and back communication as well trying to gain various Hon Houses at their side.

The Uchiha were preparing their own forces for the imminent clash, mustering troops to head towards the Tokugawa invasion force in hope to use some aid of the Hanta to drive them off. But soon news would reach the three clans that various Houses of the Hon clan were making ready for war.

Commanders

Hanta

Clan Leader:

Junichi Hanta-Moukin

Clan leader, aged only 18 at the time the war started. Led Hanta forces, credited with being the reason Hanta losses were not as severe as they could be.

Generals:

Fumio Hanta-Okami

Twenty-three years of age at the time the fighting started. More known for leading the inital sucessful attacks on the Hon in the previous war. Being one of the more experienced generals on the field, Fumio was put against the forces of the Tokugawa, with his host being larger than that of the other two generals. Fumio led his forces against Tadakatsu, managing to stop the latter's advance at several occasions. Although Fumio was later killed by none other than his rival general on the field, Tadakatsu.

Shiego Hanta-Bobukyatto

Thirty years of age when the war began, a hero to the common troops. His presence tended to boost morality, as it was rumored he'd never lost a battle before. During this war,  however, that rumor was proven false in the face of such a mighty foe. Shiego's forces fought where they were needed, moving quickly to shore up forces who needed numbers. During this time, the man lost a few battles as he attempted to to reinforce weaker units. Despite this, Shiego would survive the war, and return home. Only to realize that his wife, Kukiko, had disobeyed his orders to stay out of the war, and perished during the events.

Kiyoko Hanta-Moukin

Twenty years old at the time the fighting began. The only female general during this conflict for the Hanta, and wife of the Clan Leader. Used a massive Tessen, to both signal troops and as a weapon in battle supplemented by ninjutsu. A majority of her battles were against the Hon and Sarutobi forces that arrived to help the Tokugawa. Seeing some successes during her time, Kiyoko began to lean towards more aggressive tactics. Although this proved to be her undoing, as she was later blinded in battle by an unknown enemy, and had to withdraw from her position due to being unable to lead any longer.

Hon

House of Magnhild,

The House of Magnhild was the largest force from the Hons. It was also the best-equipped force, with many veterans from raiding expeditions and fighting against in minor conflicts and skirmish against other forces of the Hons. The force assembled by Atli to participate in this war was considered to be the main bulk of the Hon force, though interesting fact is that neither the Rachon or Rawon Hons ever acknowledged that fact during the conflict.

Lineage : Atsushi

Lord Atli Hon of the Atsushi Lineage. At the age of forty-three at the start of the war. He was renowned among his kin and other Hons as one of the most competent fighter and strategist, having managed to claim the leadership from his father by winning a conflict against his own (older) brother.

General Björn Hon, cousin of Atli. At the age of thirty-five at the start of the war. At the time being, the White blade of the Atsushi lineage. While he was considered to be the best fighter that Atli had, Björn didn't see the end of the war. He would fall in a battle against the Uchiha clan, where the Hons claim that Björn managed to take down Shigetane Uchiha before being overwhelmed by the enemy. The (title) White Blade would be passed down to Björn's son, Dan. While some claim that the Hons didn't manage to recover Björn's sword, the sources of the Hon clan are determined that they indeed managed to recover the blade.

General Asvald Hon of the Armod Lineage. At the age of thirty-two at the start of the war. While not related to Atli Hon, Asvald was a youth friend of Atli. The story goes that the two had a friendly rivalry and Asvald had managed to save Atli's life when the latter's father died. During the succession crises of the Magnhild Hons, Asvald was responsible for leading a distraction to win enough time for Atli to launch the decisive charge against Atli's brother. He managed to survive the war, with gaining only more scars than he already had.

House of Rawon,

The House of Rawon, wasn't as large as the Magnhild Hon forces. They, however, also were composed out of many veterans who were more than able and eager to give the opposition a tough fight. While lacking the numbers that the Magnhild forces had, the Hons of Rawon had a different edge. While Alti was respected and acknowledged as a great leader, Ingvar's tactics and strategies were better thought out. Being more cautious in the conflict, the Rawon Hons were most dedicated in the early stage of the war to make certain that the other Hon factions/houses weren't tempted to attack or raid their lands.

Lineage : Vidar

Lord Galti Hon of the Vidar Lineage. Gatli was at the age of twenty-nine. He had managed to gain the leadership of the Rawon Hons by diplomacy instead of force. Managing to get the support of Ingvar, Galti secured his grip on the Rawon Hons further by joining the war, leading some troops, though the majority of the time the Rawon forces were led by the more experienced and capable Ingvar.

General Ingvar Hon of the Orm Lineage. Being forty-one at the start of the war. While there are some who claimed that Ingvar would have been a better leader, he became the chief advisor to Gatli. He eventually would start to write the book 'A lifetime of Bloody War', a book that described some of his tactics and experiences of both the Tokugawa conquest and conflicts before. The book would eventually become a popular literature work among the Hons who wanted to study the tactics and strategies of Ingvar. Most of Hisho's strategies on unifying the Hon clan would derive from Ingvar's book.

House of Daell,

One of the smallest factions/houses in the Hon clan. Lacking both the numbers and resources to field the typical armies that the Hon favoured, with heavy infantry and decent cavalry, the Daell Hons had a keen eye for more stealthier approaches. The veterans that were present in the force of Daell were mostly those who had participated in raiding the northern lands, coming to blows with smaller and less renowned clans. Their contact with the Sarutobi, however, did make it easier for them to learn how to counter and perform subterfuge operations.

Lineage : Steinar

Lady Ragnhild Hon of the Steinar lineage. Just managed to proclaim and settle down as the leader of her people before the war started. She was thirty-three at the start of the war. She didn't as much lead the forces of Daell into battle, but there is a story how she was more than eager to grab shield and sword to join the marching if it weren't for the fact that she was pregnant at the time.

General Hallad Hon of the Steinar lineage. Married to Ragnhild, he took the task to lead the Hons of Daell into the war. While being a reputed fighter, he wasn't as tactful in either diplomacy or battlefields as his wife was. He was thirty-six at the start of the war, but wouldn't live to see the end of it. Hallad's death was in the midst of battle, but there are some sources who claim that the man didn't feel well and fight, leading to his death. The death of Hallad Hon had a morale impact of the Daell Hons, who were being persuaded by Alti Hon to temporary join his forces instead of returning back home.

Tokugawa

Clan leader:

Keiji Tokugawa

Clan leader Forty one years of age at the start of the war, while also engaging in battles sometimes. He also had the idea to do what his ancestors had done with the Hon and would hire mercenaries to help even the playing field.

Megalodon:

Tadakatsu Honda

Forty nine years of age when war started, carried the most important title below that of clan leader. This was the first war hes been in, where he has recieved a wound which was caused by Chieko Hanta who he slew when she failed to kill him. Said to have led the final blow against the Hanta, managing to kill general Fumio Hanta- Okami in the battle. He was tasked with ending the war as fast as possible by forcing the Hanta's to surrender. Fought only against the Hanta during this war, who was able to stop his advance on multiple occassions. After the war he would go home to his wife, and would recover in peace before being called out for Keiji's other wars. He would go on to live through countless wars, before dying in the same battle as Keiji. To the present day, those that speak of the finest warriors of the Tokugawa always include the man of peerless might Tadakatsu.

Generals:

Sima Fang

Thirty seven years of age when war started, was asked by his wife and children to not join this war as they had a bad feeling. Yet he ignored their plea and wouldn't fret as the only true opposing force would be Uchiha. Fought the first battle against the Uchiha, was tasked with holding them off long enough for their allies to join the fray. Praised as the man who put defense on top priority, he held them off long enough for Lianshi to come to his aid along with the Hon. He however would not see the end of the war as that very night in his tent, he would be assassinated. In the morning when his death was reported, all of his men were then tasked to Lianshi and Assur.

Lianshi Ning

Twenty eight years of age, one of the few women generals the clan ever had. It was said she came to assit Sima in the first battle, and just her arrival made their troops erupt in cheer, shouting Lian is gonna kill you. She wielded a weapon know as a Naginata and was flawless in its art. After coming to Sima Fang's aid, he would get assassinated that very night which left his troops under her care and Assur's. Gave Assur the order to find a way to break their defense apart so they could finally launch an offensive. Which took several days, yet he finally managed to break it and allow them to start pushing the force back. This act allowed Assur to earn her respect, and eventually her hand in marriage. She was the Major General at the time.

Assur Hon

Lineage: Agnarr

A small group of Hon that the Tokugawa bought as mercenaries ninety years ago. The group eventually opted to stay in the Tokugawa land instead of returning back home, thus allowing the man that never faltered Assur to one day rise up to be a general in the Tokugawa service.

He was praised as the man that could break past any defense before him, which may be how he won the respect of Lianshi, and eventually her hand in marriage. Thirty years of age at the war, Assur would participate in most of the battles that occured. Mostly as a factor to pierce through the enemy lines that seemed to hold out for weeks on end. Yet he always manged to break the defenses. Some that believe in Buddhism say he is the reincarnation of Agnarr, due to the terror he causes. The only one in recorded Tokugawa history to have earned the title Dire Shark.

Uchiha

Leader:

Yoshiakira Uchiha

Like many Uchiha Clan leaders in their time Yoshiakira was blessed with a sharp mind and a long life. He was the first of three children, his younger brother enrolled in the army early on in life and his younger sister raised by his mother, whereas Yoshiakira himself spend his days learning how to rule over such a large and important clan. He was, of course, not shy from fighting experience, but would never fully fight on the battlefield himself as that was not his predestined role in life. At the time of the conflict the man was at the age of fifty eight.

Chiyo no Miya

Yoshiakira's wife. As most clan leader wives, Chiyo was tasked with leading the little birds that worked in the shadows, next to of course being the face of the Uchiha next to the Clan Leader. Since the Clan Leader would spend most of his days in this period tending to foreign affairs, it came to Chiyo to be the face for the internal problems that might arise. Carrier of the Sharingan.

(Miya suffix is usually given to females of the Royal family before the time everyone carried surnames)

Generals:

Shigetane Uchiha

Named after the famous General of yore and growing up in the life of war and blood, this Shigetane Uchiha definitely lived up to the name he was given at his birth. In all of his days he lead many a battle both victories and retreats and fought in many himself. People knew his face well and wherever he came he would be welcomed within the Uchiha lands with respect and admiration. He was the figure that the people would look up to to defend their lands regardless if he actually did this or not. Understanding the need for a good strong symbol in the fighter and general, Yoshiakira bestowed Shigetane with the great honor of marrying his sister Ise no Miya, thus granting him even more fame. He was at the respectable age of thirty seven when the conflict started. Unfortunately he would not see the end of it as he fell because of the wounds sustained by a battle with Björn Hon, leaving his wife behind. He was burried with the fur of Halvard, the dire wolf he killed during the battle.

Nagahide Uchiha

Younger brother of the Clan Leader Yoshiakira. Early in his life enrolled in the military Nagahide was expected to do well. Unfortunately he would always stand in the shadows of Shigetane and would never become the exceptional general like his parents expected him to be. It was not like he wasn't a decent leader, he just wasn't amazing. This lead to certain tensions between Shigetane and Nagahide especially since the former got to marry the latter's sister. At the time of the conflict he was thirty five. Carrier of the Sharingan.

(Lower General) Isao no Takayama

(Most people would be referred to by the name of the town where they came from, Isao of Takayama)

The embodiment of a man who worked his way up from almost nothing. Isao started out as a foot soldier at the age of seventeen when he enlisted as his family fell into poor times. Isao rose the ranks rather quickly though he could never become as high ranked as say Shigetane simply because he was not high born. But maybe because he was so low born, he was able to rally the soldiers in a way Shigetane could never do. He had a sharp mind and a clear way of speaking. At the time of the conflict he was just hitting forty.

Notable People

Hanta

Chieko Hanta-Okami and Kukiko Hanta-Bobukyatto

The founders of the Hantagādo, a more specialised unit in among the Hanta forces. Operating mostly in guerrilla tactics to disrupt larger enemy forces before they met the main Hanta forces. Both saw a few battles against the Blackroots, and other forces. Though both women perished in the war, they're credited with having successfully caused some chaos among the invading forces, and thus likely saving many lives. Chieko perished during an ambush on forces led by Tadakatsu Honda, when she managed to wound, yet not kill the man who then slew her in turn. Kukiko died during an ambush on forces led by Alti Hon, when she too missed her mark and managed to only stab him in the belly before dying. Still, both women did managed to lead a few successful operations against their enemy.

Hon

House of Magnhild

Kenta Hon of the Yamato Lineage. Kenta was the oldest guard of Atli's retinue, being at the age of fifty-one at the start of the war. While some might have considered his age to be reason enough to retire, Kenta would have none of that. During the war he managed to protect and save Atli's lives countless times on and outside of the battles that were waged. Surviving the war there is a story that details about Kenta's death, that he shortly died after from a depression. A depression that had its origins from the fact he couldn't have gain a glorious death against the Uchiha clan and joining his youth and some of his relatives by falling in battle.

Halvard. The 'partner' of Halvard went down into history unnamed, but Halvard the dire wolf would go down into the history of the Hon clan as one of the heroes of the war. This wasn't just because Halvard was one of the few dire wolves who managed to reach the age and size that one could ride it on battle, but because of the fact that the creature imbued dread and fear in those who dared to face it. Leading many charges, the beast became a living symbol of courage and might for the Magnhild's Hons. Sadly, Halvard wouldn't ever be able to enjoy the prestige won after the war. During the battle against Shigetane Uchiha, the mighty beast was part of a charge on the right flank on the Uchiha army. While managing to inspire dread and fear among the ranks of the Uchiha, the beast wouldn't be able to go on a murder spree. Its dead would be at the hand of Shigetane Uchiha. There is a large black fur pelt in the throne room in Magnhild, claiming that it is from a descendant of Halvard.

House of Rawon

Bera Hon, founder of her own lineage after her death. Was a foot soldier who managed to win fame and renown by saving Galti's life on a battle, only to die of her wounds after the battle. Even to this day, those of the Bera lineage are often promoted or recruited into the retinue of the leaders of Rawon. A few descendants of the Bera lineage even have managed to achieve to become recruited into the Sworn Swords, only furthering the pride that Bera's descendants have.

House of Daell

Captain Gunnr Hon of the Gunvor Lineage. After the death of Hallad Hon, the force of the Rachon Hons were being led by Gunnr, a woman who had experienced many raids to the north of the Rachon Hon's lands and homes. Knowing how to conduct stealth operations, she was mostly occupied by countering the attempts of assassins and ambushes launched from the Hanta and Uchiha's opposition. She was praised among her kin for managing to preserve Alti's life during the war. Only to be executed when she came back home by Ragnhild, who believed that Gunnr had failed, as Hallad was after all dead.

Tokugawa

Kiyo Unohana

A simple medic that was said to have saved Tadakatsu from dying from a serious wound caused be Chieko Hanta, this act prompted Keiji to reward the woman by giving her a choice of riches or becoming the head medic. She would choose the latter and would go on to save countless lives for the Tokugawa forces.

Uchiha

Shinji no Takayama

Second son of a sake brewer, Shinji joined the large forces of the Uchiha when he was fifteen only three years before the conflict with the Tokugawa, making him eighteen when it started. He got renown because he managed to bring Shigetane's body back to the allied forces, endangering his own life in the process.

Tamiko no Misumi

One of the assassins within the spy forces of the Uchiha. A young woman at the time of the conflict, only twenty years old, but well skilled at the art of infiltration and assassination. She was well trusted among the team, handeling herself on countless missions, making her one of the few who was send out for the more dangerous attempts on the enemy lives. Among the ones, Tamiko managed to take the life of Sima Fang, general of the Tokugawa. Carrier of the Sharingan.

Minoru no Kanazawa

The name of the man who would record a lot of the battles that were fought in his books. He proclaims to write the truth in his works.

Start of the Conflict

Tokugawa throw

Tokugawa soldiers, in a skirmish with Uchiha.

The Tokugawa force would secure the river that first marked their border. With taking control they would be able to deny the Hanta and Uchiha troops from crossing the river into their lands as well securing supply routes and reinforcements to arrive without much determent or resistance. Word from the Hon Houses reached the Tokugawa but they weren't nearby or would be fast enough to reinforce them against the forces of the Uchiha clan. With already a detachment of their forces in the lands of the Hanta clan, the majority would ready themselves for the Uchiha clan. The Uchiha weren't foolish enough to just charge in and hope to gain an easy victory against the Tokugawa. So the first few clashes were nothing more than small skirmishes between the Tokugawa and Uchiha, as if they were cautiously trying to gain an impression of how the other fought.

The news that three large hosts of Hons were on the warpath, speeding as fast as they could towards the Tokugawa the Hanta decided to make a move. Assembling a force, called the Hantagādo, to launch a strike, they managed to ambush the host of Atli Hon north of where later Konohagakure would be founded. Determined to land a blow against Atli's army, the Hantagādo were locked in fierce battle against Atli's forces. While having caught the Hons of Magnhild in surprise and reaping some initial success with the confusion the battle would soon enough turn sour when Atli would kill Kukiko in combat. The latter missed her mark, just causing a wound against Atli's by a stab in the stomach while receiving the tip of the Hon's blade in the gut. After Kukiko's death, the Hanta would be routed and forced to attempt to retreat to their own land.

Army advancing

The Hons on the march.

While awaiting their reinforcements from the Hon before pushing their assault further in would lead to quite a few skirmishes. With Sima as their defensive general, he assured that all skirmishes that did transpired were kept to a minimal loss for their side as much as possible. Most of these skirmishes ended up being a stalemate as the Uchiha never broke through, yet nor was Sima confident enough to pursue any that fled, These would continue on until their reinforcements had arrived but they would no longer be under the leadership of Sima who was assassinated in his sleep. The leadership would then be split between Lianshi and Assur. While Tadakatsu would make his way with a Hon force, under the leadership of Gatli Hon, into Hanta's lands.

Invading the Hanta and Uchiha

Tadakatsu moving forward would be stopped by an ambush unit led by Chieko who misjudged the distance and put a decent gash into his back, yet didn't kill the man, who in turn plunged his spear into her chest and ended her life. Their advance would be stopped for a while but wasn't for too long as Kiyo Unohana fixed him up quite quickly, which allowed the Hanta some rest before the advance was resumed, which would come to the first city in the Hanta lands.

Agnarr

The Agnarr pushing the Hanta back.

With the city under his control. Tadakatsu would give the men a few weeks of rest before he resumed his advance this time for the Hanta capital Hanta No Seiyou. Several times would a small detachment try and slow his advance but it never slowed it for long as each time the detachment grew less and less. However, he did one day send the Agnarr Hons under the leadership of Assur to chase after the rest of the detachment that started to retreat. What transpired was a blood bath that Assur caused. Encircling around them and closing the gap. He literally left not a single survivor of the detachment. Ensuring no more hindrances would happen.

With that out of the way, Tadakatsu arrived at the city and began preparations on the heart of the Hanta lands. The majority of the Hanta force being inside the city were intent on keeping the place standing, giving Tadakatsu's force a hell of a time trying to make a break in their defences. Yet as days transpired into weeks and those weeks into months. The Tokugawa and Hon force managed to break down the gates allowing their armies to flood into the city. Where the defending Hanta's fought like cornered animals taking many down in the attack. This was when the duel between Tadakatsu and Fumio would commence, with the latter showing the grizzled veteran a fierce attack, even going as far as to give the man new scars to show for it. Yet in the end, one slip up from Fumio sealed the deal as Tadakatsu would slice the leg off from Fumio, before beheading the man to end their battle. With their general dead, the rest of the force would then route making the city come under control of the Tokugawa and Hon force.

The other Hon hosts were led by Hallad Hon of House Daell and Gatli Hon of House Rawon. Reaching the Tokugawa land, they didn't waste any time to venture towards the Tokugawa forces. With these reinforcements, the allied Hon and Tokugawa forces would split up. The host of House of Magnhild, Atli Hon's troops, were later due to the Ambush of the Hantagādo. Eager to prove both his own worth and that his House was capable of facing the Uchiha alone, Hallad Hon would lead his troops in a fast march towards the Uchiha city of Kanazawa. Ignoring the advice of his commanders to wait and move together with the other Hons and Tokugawa, sources tell that Hallad considered it to be dangerous to let the Uchiha muster troops in peace. That and some sources even have recorded that Hallad considered the other Hons and the Tokugawa wanting to gain a share of the prestige, that would come with defeating the Uchiha.

Managing to win various small skirmishes against the Uchiha clan would just further bolster the man's confidence. Eventually, the Uchiha clan had a force equal to Hallad's force under the leadership of Shigetane Uchiha. A name that was both feared and respected by the Houses of the Hon clan for a most dangerous general.

The news on who was opposing him to gain access to the lands of the Uchiha and being able to pillage and raid them reached Hallad pretty fast. Eager to put Shigetane Uchiha to the test, Hallad ignored the advice of his captains and commanders to find a better place to wage a battle against Shigetane. Ignoring all of the pleas and council, the Battle of Uho's Field would commence.

Hallad Hon

Hallad Hon preparing to face against Shigetane Uchiha's host.

Both the forces of Shigetane Uchiha and Hallad Hon were at the ready and while the first phases seemed to be in the favour of Hallad, it turned around when more Uchiha forces appeared on the flanks of Hallad's army, starting to make advances on the right of Hallad's army - where the latter was personally at, leading his own huskarls.

While a good portion of Hallad's force managed to escape under the leadership of Gunnr Hon, Hallad would fall in battle while the Uchiha suffered minimal losses.

The next months would proceed at a much slower pace. Both the Hanta and Uchiha were hesitant to make any offensive operations as the enemy was enjoying a larger force. Reinforcing their positions, however, caused the Hon and Tokugawa armies to be quite cautious. With the surviving forces of House Daell rejoining the other Houses and Tokugawa, they wouldn't repeat Hallad's mistake.

The surviving forces of Hon House of Daell would inform the Tokugawa-Hon army of their defeat. Learning that Shigetane Uchiha's rumoured reputation of cunning commander was true, the advancement of Björn Hon and Lianshi was swift but cautious as they weren't eager to repeat the mistake of Hallad Hon. With a message send to the other Hon forces, the army would be reinforced by a detachment from Gatli Hon of House Rawon. General Ingvar Hon had already a reputation of being a great commander, which bolstered the morale of present Hons and thus neutralised the loss of morale thanks to the Battle of Ucho's Field.

Arriving near the city of Kanazawa, the siege would be prepared. There wasn't any sign of Shigetane Uchiha or of his forces. This was considered a good sign among many of the Tokugawa and Hons. Yet Björn and Lianshi decided to prepare for a potential ambush as Ingvar was wary that it seemed to easy. As troops were busy with preparing to set up siege weapons horns would resonate through the air. Small companies of riders would launch quick and brief attacks on the combined forces, intending to delay their work. With being prepared for such events, Ingvar led a counter attack and drove away from the Uchiha attackers. Some of the Hons considered this to be a disappointment as they had hoped for large battles in which it would be proven that the Uchiha were inferior. While Lianshi and Björn would continue the siege on Kanazawa, Ingvar took it upon himself to use a detachment to attempt to raid the countryside. He believed that Shigetana was bidding his time to launch an attack to then drive the Tokugawa and Hons in one fell sweep from the city.

Marching into the countryside, Ingvar's troops started to burn and pillage the site. Wary as he was, the Hon general soon caught wind of a force speeding towards him. Managing to find himself a few good hills to take position upon, Ingvar would allow Shigetane to test out his forces. Various days did the two forces clash and test each other's mettle, with each day no clear winner. Eventually, Ingvar would regroup back with Björn and Lianshi, hoping that the two were finished with their preparations. The first few assaults against the defences of Kanazawa didn't go very well. While both Tokugawa and Hon troops were fierce, they were met with a determined host of defenders that would repel any attempt. Just as the plan was made to starve out the Uchiha news would reach that Shigetane was battering the Tokugawa defenses at the river. Realising the danger, Ingvar would request the aid of Lianshi and the Tokugawa to drive Shigetane Uchiha away. The general understood that if the Uchiha would take control of the river that the supply routes of both the Tokugawa and Hon forces would be cut off and mean a certain death with a deadly combatant such as Shigetane Uchiha leading the opposition.

As Lianshi and Ingvar sped towards the river, they would be met with surprised Tokugawa forces who were stationed to defend the river crossings. No Uchiha army had been near them. Various skirmishes had taken place but no sight of Shigetane Uchiha. Cursing their reaction, Ingvar realised what had transpired. While he spurred the combined forces of Lianshi and his own host to head back to Björn's host, they wouldn't make it in time.

While holding the siege, Björn Hon remained vigilant. When his scouts reported that a large Uchiha host was approaching the city, the White Sword of Magnhild was aware of what he had to do. Breaking the siege off, Björn marshalled his army to the hills and woods close to the small village of Watabiro. Shigetane Uchiha and his army arrived and would make camp. The next day both the armies of Björn and Shigetane would prepare for battle. Various screening operations were held where small detachments of Uchiha would face off against both Hon and Sarutobi. Scoring initial success against the Uchiha, with the Blackroots being the most dangerous for the Uchiha with their longbows, Björn didn't press any attack or leave his favourable position. Shigetane seemed to realise that it would just mean heavy losses if he would assault Björn's position. Deciding to break the battle off, both armies would make once more camp.

Final Push

With the siege of Hanta No Seiyou ending in a victory, more reinforcements would arrive from both the Tokugawa as Gatli's host. The combined reinforcements would met up with Lianshi and Ingvar as Björn's host would soon rejoin them as well. Instead of head towards Kanazawa, the large allied force would move towards Takayanta. The reason to abandon an attempt on Kanazawa laid in the fact that if the Tokugawa and Hons could conquer Takayanta that they were able to cut the Uchiha from liberating the Hanta capital from Tokugawa control. As the allied force marched on, Ingvar made the plan that Björn would lead a host to form a defence against any attempts of the Uchiha to raid and attack them, while preparing for a siege. Same did he advise to the Tokugawa to send one commander with a detachment to protect their southern flank from the Uchiha.

As Björn marched with his forces, he would take hold near a few hills and woods. Setting up sentries and sending out scouts, a part of Björn's forces would start to dig a long trench. The trench would serve to delay any advancements of the Uchiha clan. While this was in progress Björn caught wind from his scouts that Shigetane Uchiha was approaching his position. With their armies of equal size the Hons wouldn't sally out of their favourable positions to give battle to the Uchiha. Neither did the Uchiha make any advancement to assault the Hon's superior position. Various cunning manoeuvres were being done by Shigetane who managed to make Björn believe that the Uchiha would attempt to send a large cavalry unit to get past them. While Björn sent out a detachment to defend their flanks, Shigetane led his attack. The majority of the Uchiha were about to assault the camp of Björn. Rumour has it that one of the original retinue of Atli Hon, went into a charge and held off the Uchiha's advancement. Killing thirty Uchiha before being joined by his comrades, Kenta Hon managed to survive his brave charge and the following fight. Several sources report that the hersir fought Shigetane himself and almost had success in taking the later's life.

Outcome

The war ended with a peace treaty signed where the Hanta ceded land. Both the Uchiha and Hanta clan were forced to pay some war reparations to both the Tokugawa as to the participating Hon Houses. Where one might consider that this war was just one of the many conflicts waged during the Warring Clans Era. This conflict, however, would set the tone of the Hon and Uchiha rivalry as the marking of the Tokugawa as a large power in the region towards other large clans. While the Hanta and Uchiha resented the Tokugawa for the conflict, it did bring more interactions and trade between the Hon and Tokugawa - as the result of newfound respect of their non-Chonobi ally.
