"Strength from Honour." - the motto of clan Kyndõ.

The Kyndõ clan originates from the Jirou Authority. They are reputed for their diligence and passion for honour. The Kyndõ clan is often described as a proud, tall rock standing above the scheming waters of politics. Unbend and unbroken, the Kyndõ clan will not adhere to the deceitful and greedy ambitions of the unworthy.

Traits

  • Wealth from Muscles

The Kyndõ clan isn't a clan fueled by riches. Despite their long history, dating back to a mysterious time before the Sage of Six Path, the Kyndõ clan never had a treasury overflowing with gold, silver or such. Instead, the Kyndõ clan prides themselves on a spartan lifestyle - whether they are from a common or noble heritage. While this has made other clans mock the Kyndõ clan, their lies and slander do little to prohibit the Kyndõ clan from enjoying their labour and its fruits.

  • Above others

The pride that the Kyndõ clan has is often mistaken for pure arrogance. While no Kyndõ noble readily admit to it, the Kyndõ clan teaches their people that they are better and more refined, not corrupted by greed or folly ambitions. This attitude has created both admirers and enemies in other courts. But that is of no concern for the Kyndõ clan.

  • Unbend, unbroken

While other clans scheme and plots, the Kyndõ clan may be the most predictable in the nation. All because they refuse to adhere to dishonest approaches. When the Kyndõ clan states they will do something, they will keep true to their word. It may not always have worked out well for them, but it has created a solid reputation that nobody dares to doubt the Kyndõ clan.

History

Kyndõ Samurai

The samurai of the Kyndõ clan are feared and respected in equal measure. The martial prowess of these fighters is enough to mark them as shinobi-killers due to their capability to prohibit many shinobi even to finish a streak of handsigns. Enhancing their fighting style with chakra, the Kyndõ samurai are fast and precise in their attacks.

The true origins of the Kyndõ clan are taught to everyone underneath their leadership. The Divine decided that a particular tribe from aeons ago was the chosen to be her heralds in this chaotic world. This tribe wandered around the surface of this globe, hoping to find a home worthy of settling on. With the subtle guidance of the Divine herself, this tribe eventually found the ancestral home of the Kyndõ clan. Promising ever to stay humble and faithful to the Divine, the Kyndõ clan adopted the rigid lifestyle they still clung to this day.

During the Warring Clans era, the Kyndõ clan was consistently in trouble. Due to their ways, they refused to follow many other clans in the dark paths of subterfuge and deception. Several harsh defeats have been the work because of their stark loyalty to their creeds. However, the Kyndõ clan has repeatedly proven that their discipline and prowess in various fields are not to be underestimated lightly.

The formation of the Water country brought not much joy to the Kyndõ clan. Forced to work with clans that quickly gave in to ambition and greed, the Kyndõ leadership often made it clear that this behaviour repulsed them. Several times the leaders of the Kyndõ clan clashed with the Mizukages - not trusting any snake willing to sacrifice others for their gain. Because of this, the Kyndõ clan even refused to follow orders during the Great War and were one of the very few who showed both mercy and honour to their enemies. A particularly intriguing event was the Massacre of Odeila, which the Kyndõ clan refused to partake at.

The Kyndõ clan mostly ignored the Shoji occupation, and the ambitions and forceful way of change made the Kyndõ clan look down upon Shoji and his underlings. Most scholars and other clans also argue that their apathetic stance was because the events of Shoji's occupation brought little change to the Kyndõ clan. The Revolution was one strife that the Kyndõ clan was intrigued by. But before they could decide, the Revolution was over, with the revolutionaries able to take down the Mizukage. Because of the promise of a better future, the Kyndõ clan was willing to cooperate better with this new regime.

The dawn of the Jirou Authority saw; however, a new bloody shift taking place. The execution of several senators and the forceful takeover made the Kyndõ enraged at the new regime. For months on end, the emissaries of the new administration had worked hard to convince the Kyndõ clan even to acknowledge the new leadership. While they do so now, the Kyndõ clan is far from pleased with the latest political shift in their nation.

Members

The people of the Kyndõ clan are usually described as dull, arrogant and ugly. It is rare to see anyone from the clan's administration or nobility wearing much colour. Luxuries as make-up or jewellery are shunned and have made other clans joke that fashion is entirely unknown to the Kyndõ clan. But to the people of Kyndõ, staying true to oneself is the purest and beautiful thing ever.

A traditional hierarchy leads the clan. The clan leader decides significant impact, while more minor matters are often delegated to trustworthy advisors and retainers. Because of their honesty and loyalty, some other clans are keen to hire retainers of Kyndõ heritage

Kyndõ Samurai 2

While many clans refuse to allow noblewomen to follow the warrior's path, the women of the Kyndõ clan are authorised to do so. In fact, in recent years, it has been more of a tradition for daughters to practise some martial prowess - with many taking a liking to the glaive or bow.

Techniques

Despite not desire to adhere to the dark paths of subterfuge that shinobi usually tend to, the Kyndõ clan has various martial techniques. Some styles even require the practitioner to have the ability to control and utilize chakra to be effective. With diligence and discipline, the samurai of the Kyndõ clan is perhaps with few but a nightmare to any shinobi unprepared to deal with them.

Traditions

The traditions of the Kyndõ clan are focused on prohibition and dedication. Because nearly all of the Kyndõ clan refuse to enjoy luxuries, many outsiders consider them dull and bitter. The truth is, however, more complicated. Various festivals do exist which provide some respite from the harsh, spartan lifestyle. Ironically, most of those festivals and ceremonies revolve around praising the labour that preceded the custom.
