Personality
Azumi is much like her other Hunter-nin compatroits. She seems to be silent and speak only when the situation calls for it. The main drives for the woman seem to be her loyalty and duty to the country, everything else simply coming at second place. Not much emotion can be detected from her as her training likely allows her to have full control over it. It is fair to say, however, that the mask she wears allows her to prevent anyone to get a good reading on her.
History
Azumi's history is blurred for anyone with not high enough rank to view it. Though one can assume that she was recruited into the Hunter-nin at a young age, for showing her potential. From there she was likely subjegated to gruesome trainings and ordered to execute harsh missions, all to bring forth a cold-stone operative.
Currently, Azumi's tracklist of various operations has made her appearance in various files on operations that were conducted during the Shoji rebellion and the time after. Not much can be found about her, likely indicating that she occupied a station somewhere or was subject to a heavily classified sequence of missions.
With the shift of the Republic's senate to Jirou's takeover, likely, Azumi wasn't present or onboard with the coup. However, it is unlikely to make more than a guess with either Azumi or most Hunter-nin - who continue to operate behind their masks.

As a member of the Hunter-nin, it is safe to say that Azumi is a skilled combatant and highly capable operative. With her tracklist being long enough to contest some jounin, it is clear that she has earned her place with merit. The presence of various sheathed knives at her belt make it clear that she does prefer close quarter combat over ranged.
